Family pleads for answers in unsolved Kent, WA murder

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The tragic murder of Demetrius Marquel Marr-Woods, a 27-year-old man, remains unsolved as his family seeks justice and answers in Kent, WA. Marr-Woods was shot outside the Cloud 9 Bar on December 8, 2024, prompting his mother, Alisia Marr, to voice her anguish and insist that her son was a family-oriented individual with no involvement in illegal activities. Kent police responded to numerous 911 calls that night, discovering Marr-Woods with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. His mother revealed that this was her son's first visit to the bar, having been invited by a young woman, and staff confirmed they had never seen him before. The family suspects that another shooting occurred in the bar's parking lot about 15 minutes prior to Marr-Woods' death, a claim Kent police have yet to verify.

Alisia Marr has publicly called on the shooter to turn themselves in, expressing the deep loss felt by their family. In addition, the family has enlisted the help of an attorney to conduct their own investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murder. The community is urged to come forward with any information that may aid the ongoing investigation.
