A house fire erupted near Alderwood Mall in Lynnwood on Thursday afternoon, displacing five residents and their six dogs. The fire broke out just after 3:15 p. m. in a three-story home on 192nd Street SW, prompting a swift response from South County Fire. When firefighters arrived, they discovered flames shooting from the lower level of the house and acted quickly to contain the blaze.

Remarkably, the residents returned to the burning building to rescue their six dogs, all of whom were found safe. Firefighters evaluated four individuals for smoke inhalation on-site, while one neighbor and a firefighter were hospitalized with minor injuries. The fire is believed to be accidental, and the Red Cross is assisting those displaced by the incident. South County Fire officials have issued a warning against re-entering a burning building due to the risks involved. Investigations into the exact cause of the fire are ongoing, highlighting the importance of fire safety awareness in residential areas.
