In a significant police operation, two men, both 34 years old, were arrested in Tacoma for their alleged involvement in a series of burglaries across Snohomish County, linked to a larger organized crime group from South America. This group is suspected of conducting more than 300 burglaries since 2021, accumulating losses that exceed $5 million in cash and jewelry. The suspects have been charged with multiple counts of burglary and theft, with detectives indicating they specifically targeted Asian and Indian homeowners, believing they might possess substantial sums of cash and valuable items. Throughout the investigation, law enforcement agencies collaborated over two years, utilizing various resources to identify and apprehend the suspects. The suspects allegedly sourced their victims through local businesses and open-source databases, showcasing a calculated approach to their criminal activities.

This arrest follows prior arrests of three other men in June 2023, who were connected to a string of similar burglaries throughout western Washington. As the investigation continues, the two men are expected to make their first court appearance on Thursday. This incident highlights ongoing concerns about organized crime and targeted burglary in the region.
