Police: Teen in stolen car flees cops, causes crash in Lynnwood

In Lynnwood, a significant traffic incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when a 16-year-old boy driving a stolen vehicle fled from police, resulting in a three-car crash on Highway 99. The situation began at 2:08 p. m. when officers spotted the teen and attempted to intervene without lights or sirens. The driver fled south and subsequently caused a collision at the intersection of 176th Street SW.

Fortunately, the other drivers involved sustained no injuries, but the crash led to the temporary closure of the southbound lanes, diverting traffic onto 168th Street SW. After the accident, the teen abandoned the car and fled on foot but was apprehended shortly thereafter. Following evaluation at a local hospital, he was booked into the Denney Juvenile Justice Center due to existing felony warrants. The lanes were reopened around 3:15 p. m.
