Lanes reopen after crash on Highway 525 north of Lynnwood

A serious traffic incident unfolded on Tuesday morning as a crash blocked all lanes of northbound Highway 525 at Highway 99 in Lynnwood, causing significant delays for commuters. The collision occurred around 7:45 a. m. when an Everett man veered across the center median, resulting in a sideswipe of one vehicle before colliding with another. Fortunately, the driver who caused the crash did not sustain serious injuries and was taken to Swedish Edmonds for precautionary evaluation.

However, one of the drivers involved in the collision required hospitalization at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. The Washington State Patrol confirmed that emergency responders, including police and fire crews, swiftly arrived on the scene, leading to the closure of the highway for investigation and cleanup. Traffic congestion worsened, with reports indicating delays of over 1½ miles. After roughly two hours, the highway was reopened, allowing traffic to resume. This incident highlights the importance of road safety and the ripple effects such accidents can have on local traffic conditions.
