Marysville schools HR director resigns, second since June

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Marysville School District is facing another leadership change as HR director Brooke Marshall resigned on Thursday, only a few months after her appointment at the start of the school year. This resignation follows the earlier departure of former HR director Alvin Cooper, who stepped down amid allegations of mismanagement in June. With David Burgess currently serving as interim superintendent, the district is grappling with a high turnover rate in its leadership roles, having seen five superintendents in just four years. This ongoing instability has raised concerns among parents and community members about the district's administrative effectiveness. In light of her resignation, district spokesperson Jodi Runyon indicated that Burgess and state-appointed administrator Arthur Jarvis will collaborate to find a temporary replacement for the HR position.

The Marysville School District expressed gratitude for Marshall's efforts and wished her well in her future endeavors. As the district navigates this latest transition, stakeholders are keenly observing how it will impact ongoing initiatives and the overall school environment, underscoring the challenges faced in maintaining stable leadership and fostering a positive educational atmosphere.
