Police rescue woman from submerged car in Lake Stevens

Lynnwood, WALocal News

A dramatic rescue took place in Lake Stevens on Friday morning when authorities saved a woman in her 70s from a submerged vehicle. At around 10:48 a. m. , a witness reported seeing the car partially submerged near North Cove Park. A Snohomish County sheriff’s deputy and a Lake Stevens police officer arrived quickly, locating the vehicle about 20 yards from the boat launch.

Upon diving into the water, they found the woman unresponsive and without a pulse. Paramedics provided immediate CPR, successfully restoring her pulse before transporting her to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. A spokesperson for Snohomish Regional Fire and Rescue praised the officers' decisive actions, noting that without their intervention, the outcome could have been tragic. While the woman’s revival is a positive sign, officials stated she remains in critical condition. This incident raises concerns about vehicle safety near water and the circumstances leading to the car's submersion.
