99 of Snohomish PUD customers have power back

Lynnwood, WA** Local News

The Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD) has announced that nearly all power has been restored following last week's bomb cyclone, with 99% of outages resolved by Monday afternoon. At the storm's peak, around 135,000 customers across Snohomish County and Camano Island were left without power, particularly in areas east of Lake Stevens and around Lake Roesiger. PUD spokesperson Aaron Swaney highlighted the unprecedented damage, with over 120 electrical poles replaced. Crews are working tirelessly, supported by 19 mutual aid crews from other Washington utilities, to ensure full restoration by Tuesday night. The community has expressed gratitude for the swift response, as many residents faced prolonged outages.

Fortunately, mild winter weather is forecasted for the week ahead, which should aid in the recovery process. The National Weather Service has indicated a chance of rain but cooler temperatures are not expected to worsen current conditions. Local officials continue to monitor the situation to ensure preparedness for future weather events.
