** Bomb cyclone set to bring strong winds to Snohomish County

A bomb cyclone is on course to hit Snohomish County, posing a serious threat with heavy winds, rain, and snow. The National Weather Service has issued warnings about sustained winds of 30-35 mph and gusts that could reach 60 mph, particularly along U. S. 2 through the Cascades. The storm will affect a broad area from Canada to northern California, with blizzard warnings for elevations above 2,500 feet, where 4 to 12 inches of blowing snow is expected.

The cyclone will intensify around 4 p. m. Tuesday, with peak winds until midnight before tapering off early Wednesday morning. Residents are advised to prepare for power outages and travel disruptions, as the combination of heavy precipitation and strong winds could lead to significant damage to trees and infrastructure.
