Holy Rosary School in Edmonds celebrated its 60th anniversary on September 9, 2024, with a ribbon-cutting event that also launched the HERO School Scholarship fund. This fund aims to assist students in need and honors the late Father Kenneth Haydock, who was instrumental in promoting Catholic education in the area. Current pastor Father Matthew O’Leary praised Haydock's legacy, describing him as a beacon of faith and compassion. The ceremony featured speeches from various community leaders, including former Edmonds Mayor Barb Fahey and Edmonds City Councilmember Dr. Michelle Dotsch, who highlighted the school's role in the community.

Principal Larkin Temme remarked on the significance of reaching this milestone, stating it represents both a celebration of past achievements and a commitment to the future. The school, which opened in 1964 with just 120 students, now serves over 270 students from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. This anniversary event underscores the community's dedication to supporting Catholic education and fostering a nurturing environment for students. The HERO scholarship fund will continue to honor individuals who embody the spirit of giving and support for education.
