Northbound Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle is set to experience significant traffic disruptions starting September 16, 2024, as the Washington State Department of Transportation begins a construction project aimed at improving traffic management. m. on September 18, three lanes and the University and Mercer Street ramps will be closed. Afterward, from September 18 to September 20, two northbound lanes will be closed along with the same ramps, causing further delays for commuters.
