Commercial Aviation Work Group meets Dec. 9 at Boeing Field

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Commercial Aviation Work Group will hold its fifth public hybrid meeting on December 9 at Boeing Field in Seattle from 10 a. m. to 3 p. m. The group evaluates Washington's long-term aviation and transportation needs, focusing on increasing capacity without constructing new airports.

A November report recommended that the state Legislature prompt Sound Transit to locate a Link light rail station near Paine Field, which is seen as a short- to medium-term solution for air capacity. The report emphasizes that a convenient Link station would enhance public investment value and reduce climate impacts. Attendees can comment in person or via Zoom, with 30 minutes allocated for public input during the meeting. Free temporary internet access is available statewide for those lacking broadband service. The meeting aims to gather community feedback on the state's aviation strategies.
