Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Jean Kim Foundation seeks $500,000 to finalize the purchase of its hygiene center's building in Lynnwood, supported by a $2 million commitment from an anonymous donor. The total purchase price is set at $2. 5 million, reflecting the foundation's crucial role in assisting the unhoused community. Executive Director Sandra Mears expressed gratitude for the community's backing and highlighted the resilience of their guests. Since its inception, the hygiene center has provided over 51,000 showers and is on track to serve over 13,100 hot meals by year's end.

In addition to showers and meals, guests have access to clothing and essential services, with daily visits averaging around 50. This center stands as a vital resource, as similar services are located further away in Everett or Seattle. The foundation emphasizes that no donation is too small to help secure the center's future and invites contributions online. The Hazel Miller Foundation has also contributed $50,000 toward the goal, urging others to join the effort.
