Homage Senior Services raising money to feed seniors this Thanksgiving

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Homage Senior Services is raising $10,000 to provide 660 Thanksgiving dinners to seniors and adults with disabilities in Snohomish County. The nonprofit serves over 25,000 individuals annually, offering a Thanksgiving Meals on Wheels program for more than 20 years. Each dinner, which includes leftovers, is delivered to homebound individuals unable to cook for themselves, totaling nearly 800 meals each Thanksgiving. Community support is crucial this year due to a gap in resources for vulnerable populations. "For many seniors, this visit and the warm meal we provide represent more than just Thanksgiving dinner," said Leah Hammon, Director of Nutrition.

The organization prepares and delivers meals from the Carl Gipson Center in Everett, WA, in collaboration with local businesses and volunteers. The need for this program highlights the ongoing challenges faced by isolated seniors, particularly during the holiday season. Contributions will ensure that these individuals feel remembered and cared for during Thanksgiving.
