Washington State Parks seeks applications for Winter Recreation Advisory Committees

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is actively recruiting applicants for winter sports advisory committees, offering seven positions for snowmobilers and four for non-motorized sports enthusiasts. These committees will include a mix of snowmobilers and non-motorized sports representatives, ensuring diverse perspectives. The Winter Recreation Advisory Committee is specifically seeking candidates from Areas 3 and 5, encompassing counties such as Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, Lincoln, Spokane, Kittitas, Yakima, Benton, and Klickitat. Similarly, the Snowmobile Advisory Committee is looking for members from Areas 2 through 6, covering regions like Okanogan, Chelan, Douglas, and Grant counties. Each committee member can serve up to two, three-year terms, with meetings scheduled at least twice a year.

New appointments start immediately upon selection, highlighting the urgency of filling these roles. Interested individuals should reach out to the Winter Recreation Program via mail or email for nominations and application requests. This initiative underscores Washington State's commitment to engaging winter sports communities in decision-making processes.
