Sno-King School Retirees award grants to local educators

Sno-King School Retirees awarded two grants to educators in the Edmonds School District for innovative classroom resources. Judi MacRae from Madrona K-8 received funds for alternative seating options, including floor cushions and portable lap desks, enhancing student comfort and engagement in her sixth-grade math/science class. Catherine Mathias from Seaview Elementary was awarded books for her fifth/sixth-grade class, including "The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind" and "Home of the Brave. " Since 1998, Sno-King School Retirees has distributed more than $154,000 in mini-grants, with $52,090 specifically benefiting Edmonds School District schools. The initiative reflects a commitment to supporting local educators and improving learning environments.

These grants provide essential resources that can significantly impact student learning experiences. The ongoing support for teachers demonstrates the organization's dedication to education within the community. Local educators and students alike benefit from these targeted funding efforts.
