Reminder Nov. 21 deadline to apply for Floretum Garden Club school grants

Lynnwood, WALocal News

The Floretum Garden Club is accepting applications for grants up to $1,000 for gardening initiatives in schools within the Edmonds School District, with a deadline set for November 21. These grants are designed to support projects that foster gardening activities and horticultural education, including the development of school gardens and classroom projects. Previous grant recipients, such as Brier and Cedar Way Elementary Schools, successfully implemented projects like new pollinator gardens and raised beds. Eligible applicants include school administrators, teachers, or designated representatives, ensuring a broad range of potential projects. Funds will be awarded directly to schools in January 2026, and grant recipients must submit a brief written report by the end of the school year.

This initiative aligns with efforts to enhance environmental education and student engagement in gardening. For more information and application details, visit www. floretum. org/scholarships-grants or contact grants@floretum. org.

The program highlights the community's commitment to fostering horticultural skills among students.
