Art Beat Celebrating Northwest artists and the spirit of giving

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Cascadia Art Museum will launch "Free to See," offering free admission every third Thursday and year-round access for teachers starting November 20. This initiative honors the legacy of artist Gary Faigin, who advocated for art accessibility, particularly for educators and students. Executive Director Sally emphasized that the program invites the public to engage with Northwest art and its cultural significance. Concurrently, the "Will Play for Food" fundraiser on November 15 will feature local musicians performing to benefit the Edmonds Food Bank. Organizer Jess Pillay noted the event's purpose is to unite the community in addressing rising food insecurity.

The museum's educational outreach and the fundraiser both signify a commitment to local culture and social issues. Funding for the museum's initiative comes from a private donation in Faigin's honor. These efforts showcase the interconnectedness of art, education, and community support in the Pacific Northwest.
