The local Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1040 and the city hosted the event, which attracted veterans, residents, and elected officials. Remarks from veterans and Lynnwood Mayor Christine Frizzell highlighted the significance of the day.

The ceremony featured the Armed Forces Medley, prompting veterans to stand as their service songs played. The event concluded with a rifle salute and the poignant rendition of taps.
