Lynnwood, WALocal News

Lynnwood is moving forward with plans for a three-story mixed-use building near Edmonds College, which will include 23 apartment units and 2,713 square feet of commercial space. The Edmonds Commons Student Housing project will feature eight three-bedroom apartments, 13 two-bedroom apartments, and two studios, along with 69 parking spaces. Property owner Ajay Sikka indicated that the commercial space might accommodate a coffee shop or small business, though no specific tenant has been confirmed. When asked about affordable housing provisions, Sikka assured compliance with city codes, noting that details would be addressed after receiving initial approvals. The city published a land use notice on October 14, highlighting the project's progress.

Sikka expressed a desire to start construction next year, contingent upon the city's review and approval. The development aims to cater to students and residents in the area, enhancing local housing options. As Lynnwood continues to grow, the project reflects ongoing efforts to address housing demands near educational institutions.
