Mountlake Terrace High School celebrates return of 30th Jazz Symposium Oct. 25
The Mountlake Terrace High School Band Boosters will host the 30th Jazz Symposium on October 25, marking its return after a five-year hiatus. Running from 8 a. m. to 5 p. m.
at Mountlake Terrace High School, the event features 17 jazz bands from 11 area middle and high schools. Attendees can enjoy performances, master classes, and a concert by the Seattle Hard Bop Collective, led by Jory Tindall. Notable educators Chris Bruya and Marina Christopher will conduct master classes, addressing key aspects of jazz performance and musicianship. The symposium promotes jazz education and collaboration, fostering a supportive environment for student musicians. Admission is free, and concessions will be available for purchase.
Participating schools include Edmonds-Woodway High School and Roosevelt High School, among others. Local music organizations like Kennelly Keys and Seattle JazzED will showcase their services during the event.
