Lynnwood High School Student Detained After Alleged Road Rage Incident Involving Firearm

On the morning of September 11, 2024, a 16-year-old female student at Lynnwood High School was detained by the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office following a reported road rage incident involving a firearm. The incident reportedly began on North Road, where the suspect allegedly displayed a firearm while driving. Deputies were alerted when the victim observed the suspect entering the high school parking lot. Upon arrival, law enforcement detained the student and discovered parts of an assault rifle on the floorboard of her vehicle. The authorities impounded the vehicle and the student's backpack, intending to conduct a thorough search once a warrant is obtained.

During the investigation, Lynnwood High School was placed on full lockdown as a precautionary measure. Sheriff’s office spokesperson Courtney O’Keefe confirmed that there was no ongoing danger to students and staff, ensuring their safety during the event. The incident highlights the need for vigilance regarding firearms and road rage incidents in the community.
