In a critical Wesco League South Conference match, the Meadowdale Mavericks defeated the Mountlake Terrace Hawks 3-1 on Tuesday, gaining important momentum ahead of the postseason. The teams were tied 1-1 at halftime, but second-half goals from Madison Weigel and Abby Bernards secured the Mavericks' victory. Meadowdale dominated the match, outshooting Terrace 23-7, with Kyla Johns scoring a goal and assisting on Weigel's header. Johns emphasized the win's importance for the team's mental state, saying, “This game, I think it just cleared everything up for us. ” Meanwhile, Terrace's coach Josh Cardin expressed frustration over his team's fourth consecutive loss and the ongoing impact of injuries on their performance.

He highlighted how small mistakes have cost the Hawks in close games. Goalkeepers Jordan Brannon for Meadowdale and Jordyn Stokes for Terrace made significant saves, with Stokes recording 16 saves. The match underscored the contrasting fortunes of the two teams as they navigate the final stretch of the season.
