Lynnwood Development and Business Services Director David Kleitsch retires after 25 years

David Kleitsch retired from his role as Lynnwood's Development and Business Services director after 25 years of impactful service. Hired in 2001 as the economic development director, he became the DBS director in 2020, overseeing significant projects like the Lynnwood Link Light Rail and City Center developments. City spokesperson Nathan MacDonald highlighted Kleitsch's unmatched leadership and contributions to the community. With a career in economic development starting in 1979, Kleitsch has been involved in various city projects, including the Lynnwood Event Center and Highway 99 revitalization. He holds degrees in urban planning and public administration from prominent universities.

In July, Ben Wolters was appointed as his successor. The city and its residents will miss Kleitsch's wit, humor, and passion for community growth. His retirement marks the end of an era for Lynnwood's development landscape.
