Claim your summer reading prize by Sept. 2

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Sno-Isle Libraries encourages kids and teens to submit their Summer Reading logs by September 2 for a chance to claim a free book. Participants must have read for a minimum of 10 hours, which includes all reading forms like audiobooks and being read to. This initiative aims to promote literacy and engagement among young readers during the summer. The prize books are made possible through contributions from the Sno-Isle Libraries Foundation and Friends of the Library, emphasizing community support for educational programs. Local libraries, including Brier, Edmonds, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace, serve as collection points for the reading logs.

The program not only fosters a love for reading but also strengthens community ties. Reading has been shown to improve literacy skills and academic performance, making such initiatives crucial for youth development. The encouragement of reading through rewards can lead to lasting benefits for participants.
