David Neff, 44, has pleaded not guilty to 15 charges, including possession of unlawful firearms and explosives, after his 4-year-old son accidentally shot his mother in Lynnwood. The incident occurred when the boy pulled a firearm from Neff's holster while he was asleep, injuring his mother, who was in the shower. Following the shooting, law enforcement discovered 73 unsecured firearms and over 10 explosive devices in Neff's home, prompting an increase in his bail to $1 million. Authorities noted that many firearms were easily accessible to the children in the household, raising serious safety concerns. Prosecutors emphasized the dangerous nature of the explosives, which contained shrapnel, suggesting deadly intent.

A drawing depicting a mass shooting was also found in the home, further alarming officials. Neff's trial is scheduled for September 26, as the community remains on edge regarding safety issues related to unsecured firearms and explosives.
