The Whitehorse Foundation has awarded a $130,000 grant to the Edmonds College Counseling and Resource Center to fund a full-time counselor for one year. This grant is crucial for sustaining and expanding access to free, social justice-oriented mental health counseling for students. Jessica Burwell, director of the center, stated that this support will significantly enhance the mental health and academic success of historically underserved populations. The Counseling and Resource Center offers referrals for all community members and operates in Mountlake Terrace Hall. Additionally, the Wellness Center provides a quiet space for relaxation and study, along with health items and refreshments.
