Deadline Aug. 5 to return your primary election ballot

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Snohomish County voters must return their primary election ballots by Aug. 5, with significant local races on the ballot. The primary narrows the candidate field, allowing the top two vote-getters to advance to the general election in November. County Auditor Garth Fell announced enhancements to the voting process, including a reformatted local voters' pamphlet and the removal of the ballot stub, aimed at simplifying participation. Voters can use 35 official drop boxes available 24/7 until 8 p.

m. on election day, or mail their ballots without postage, ensuring they are postmarked by the deadline. In-person voter services will remain open until the end of Election Day for registration and ballot assistance. For detailed information on drop box locations and voter services, residents can refer to the voters' pamphlet or the county's website. The changes reflect ongoing efforts to improve voter experience and participation in local elections.

Voters are encouraged to verify mail collection times to ensure their ballots are processed on time.
