Asian Service Center hosting 2nd annual Dragon Boat Festival Aug. 1

The Asian Service Center will host its second annual Dragon Boat Festival from 4-7 p. m. on August 1 at the Edmonds Waterfront Center. This festival highlights Asian heritage and includes activities such as dragon boat displays, cultural performances, and a documentary screening on the Vietnamese immigrant experience. Attendees can view and board dragon boats, with rides available weather permitting.

Performances feature professional Taiko drummers and Seattle Chinatown Lion Dancers, among others. The festival aims to celebrate cultural diversity and bolster community engagement. Founded by Asian immigrants, the Asian Service Center serves a rapidly growing Asian population in South Snohomish County, which has increased by 9% since 2020. ASC provides essential services such as health access, family support, and youth development programs. The event reflects the center's ongoing commitment to cultural pride and resilience.
