Help Homage Senior Services through national Meals on Wheels campaign July 10

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Homage Senior Services actively participates in the national Meals on Wheels Day of Giving, “Chip In, Chip Away,” on July 10, addressing the hunger crisis impacting nearly 13 million older Americans. The organization aims to raise critical funds for meal deliveries to vulnerable seniors living on fixed incomes. In 2024 alone, Homage delivered 248,588 meals, yet the demand for assistance is rising faster than funding can keep pace. Leah Hammon, the director of nutrition, stated that a donation of $80 provides seven nutritious meals and a wellness check, highlighting the profound impact on clients' lives. Juli Rose, interim CEO, warned that looming cuts to government support threaten their ability to meet the growing need for food assistance.

Over 50 years, Homage has delivered more than 11 million meals in Snohomish County, emphasizing that no senior should face hunger alone. The public is encouraged to donate any amount, with contributions accepted beyond the campaign date. For more information, visit homage. org/chip-in-chip-away.
