Nubian Jam to spotlight Black Heritage and Culture July 26

The 33rd annual Nubian Jam Community Celebration will occur on July 26 from 10 a. m. to 7 p. m. at Forest Park in Everett.

Sponsored by the Snohomish County Black Heritage Committee (SBCHC), the event highlights African American heritage and culture. Various vendors will sell food, art, and products, while local organizations will provide resources and information on community services. The program includes multicultural entertainment, fashion shows, and activities for children, alongside a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. DanVonique Bletson-Reed, president of SCBHC, stated, “Simply put, the Nubian jam is a celebration of who we are as Black people. ” The event also features a ceremony honoring Black high school graduates, reinforcing the SBCHC's mission to promote cultural diversity and inclusion.

A Black History Tent will allow visitors to explore Black history in America. Attendees can park on-site, with shuttles available for off-site parking.
