Sno-Isle Libraries seeks new members for Board of Trustees

Sno-Isle Libraries is seeking to fill two upcoming vacancies on its Board of Trustees, with applications due by July 13. The board, which governs the Library District for Snohomish and Island counties, consists of seven members—five appointed by the Snohomish County Council and two by the Island County Commissioners. Responsibilities include setting the annual budget, library policies, and organizational direction to meet the unique needs of each service area. Executive Director Eric Howard highlighted the board's commitment to equitable access, fostering welcoming spaces for all community members. Candidates must reside in the Sno-Isle Libraries District in Snohomish County, and the joint appointment will be made by the Snohomish County Council and the Board of Island County Commission.

The successful candidates will begin their terms in January 2026, serving a seven-year term. One candidate will complete a one-year partial term, with eligibility for two additional full terms. This initiative reflects the library's dedication to community involvement and effective governance.
