A 33-year-old man from Marysville faces multiple charges after a DUI chase ended in a collision on 196th Street Southwest. The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office initiated a traffic stop around 10 p. m. Tuesday, but the suspect failed to yield, leading to a pursuit that concluded with a T-bone collision at 196th and Alderwood Mall Parkway. Five people, including two minors, were in the uninvolved vehicle, while a passenger in the suspect's car suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash prompted the closure of 196th Street in all directions from 10:20 p. m. to 2 a. m. Wednesday, causing significant traffic disruptions.

After medical clearance, the suspect was booked at Snohomish County Jail on charges including DUI, reckless endangerment, and a felony warrant. The incident highlights the dangers of high-speed chases and the potential for injury to innocent bystanders. Local authorities are reviewing the case to assess the need for policy changes regarding pursuits.
