Teen Talk Local youth put their faith into action

Lynnwood, WALocal News

Local youth demonstrate their commitment to community service through religious engagement, despite a growing trend of religious disaffiliation. The Pew Research Center reports that 43% of young adults in the U. S. are religiously unaffiliated, yet many teens continue to seek meaning and connection through faith. Student-run religious clubs at local high schools, such as Warriors 4 Christ and the Muslim Student Union, illustrate a vibrant interest in these topics.

Participation in such clubs suggests that students are eager to explore their beliefs and contribute to their communities. Notably, Nina Ardiente and Mia Abellera from Lynnwood are active volunteers within their parish communities, showcasing how youth can embody their faith through service. Ardiente began volunteering at her parish in fifth grade and has since engaged in various community service activities. This trend highlights a unique intersection of youth culture, spirituality, and community involvement in the Lynnwood area. These efforts not only reflect personal beliefs but also foster a sense of belonging and purpose among students.
