Lynnwood police investigate rising theft incidents along I-5 corridor

Lynnwood police are warning businesses to be on alert for a pair of Romani women linked to thefts along the I-5 corridor. The suspects have employed sophisticated sleight-of-hand techniques to steal high-value items, including a $9,500 necklace from Zales Jewelry Store. In one instance, they defrauded an employee of $400 and made off with a dress. The duo is also wanted in Oregon, where they stole a $3,400 Maple Leaf coin from Michael Kakoullis at Portland Precious Metals. Kakoullis noted their well-planned approach, emphasizing the significant financial impact of the theft on his small business.

Police have released video footage to aid in identifying the suspects and are urging local businesses to call 911 if they see them. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to their arrest. The investigation highlights the ongoing issue of retail theft affecting local businesses.
