Teenagers admit torturing and killing kittens
Two teenagers, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, pleaded guilty to torturing and killing two kittens in Ruislip, west London. The kittens were discovered on May 3, one hanging from a tree and the other on the ground, both showing signs of severe injury. Members of the public reported seeing the teenage boy with an animal carrier, raising concerns when he and the girl were seen fleeing. The court was informed that knives, blowtorches, and scissors were found at the scene, indicating premeditated cruelty. Both defendants also faced charges for possessing a knife at Ruislip Golf Course.
They were remanded into local authority care under strict conditions, including a curfew and no contact with each other. Judge Michael Oliver highlighted the gravity of the offenses, stating he was considering all options for dealing with them. Sentencing is set for June 23, with the community likely to follow the case closely given the nature of the crimes.
