Leavenworth May See Traffic Increase April 22-23

Traffic delays will affect Leavenworth starting April 14 as crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation work on signal cabinets at three intersections. The turn lane onto US 2 will close at US 2 and Evans Street/Ninth Street from 7 p. m. to 11 a. m.

, and at Front Street and Chumstick Highway during the same hours. River Bend Drive will also see lane closures from 6 a. m. to 7 p. m.

for foundation work and from 7 p. m. to 6 a. m. for the installation of a new signal cabinet.

Flaggers will control traffic as signals may be turned off during the work. Most of the construction will occur on April 22-23, as part of a larger project to update traffic signal cabinets at 13 locations throughout Central Washington, which began last fall. This update aims to enhance traffic management and safety in the area. The project reflects ongoing efforts to improve infrastructure and accommodate increasing traffic demands.
