Clear Creek Amana senior Addie Skow has been honored as the Iowa City Press-Citizen's Student of the Week, receiving 58. 83% of the votes in a recent poll that saw a total of 20,966 votes cast. Her closest rival, Elaina McDonald from Liberty High School, garnered 23. 26% of the votes. Skow's leadership extends beyond the soccer field; she is also a student member of the school board, where she actively promotes school spirit and community involvement.

Faculty member Pete Huch nominated her, emphasizing the significant contributions she makes to the school environment by stating, "Clear Creek Amana is a better place because students like Skow bring hard work and dedication to make it that way. " The Student of the Week initiative aims to recognize high school students for their academic achievements and community service, with nominations coming from school principals and faculty across several local schools. The latest nominees included students from various high schools, showcasing a range of talents and accomplishments. The poll for this week closed on September 19, and a new poll will be launched on September 23, allowing students to continue being recognized for their hard work. Skow's recognition reflects the values of leadership and dedication that the Press-Citizen seeks to highlight in the community.
