Homemakers Furniture to break ground on new Tiffin location in October. What to know
Homemakers Furniture is set to break ground on its second Iowa location in Tiffin on October 15, creating 200 jobs in Johnson County. The new store will feature a 200,000-square-foot showroom, matching the size of its flagship Urbandale location. Key speakers at the groundbreaking ceremony will include Tiffin Mayor Tim Kasparek and lead architect Jason DeVries. The store is designed to fulfill sales from its warehouse, offering same-day pickups and in-home deliveries. Established in 1974, Homemakers has maintained a strong presence in Iowa, celebrating 50 years in the Des Moines metro in 2024.
The company was acquired by Nebraska Furniture Mart in 2000 but remains family-operated. Tiffin has been recognized as one of Iowa's fastest-growing cities, with its population nearly doubling from 2010 to 2017. The Tiffin location is expected to enhance the community's growth and provide a variety of furniture styles and home décor items.
