Legacy Washingtons Love, Equally Exhibit Heads to the City of Everett

The "Love, Equally: The Journey to Marriage Equality" exhibit will be displayed in the Everett Municipal Building from June 18 until September. Created by Legacy Washington, this exhibit honors the passage of marriage equality legislation in Washington and features stories of prominent LGBTQ civil rights advocates. Mayor Cassie Franklin expressed pride in hosting the exhibit, describing it as a moving tribute to resilience and love. The exhibit, which will be open Monday to Friday from 8 a. m.

to 5 p. m. , aims to foster a more inclusive community. In addition, it will be open on June 21 to celebrate Everett Pride’s Annual Block Party. Washington made history in 2012 by becoming the first state to approve marriage equality through a public vote.

This significant achievement transformed societal views on LGBTQ relationships, emphasizing love and family values. The exhibit includes oral histories, a printed book, and a photographic display, celebrating the ongoing fight for LGBTQ rights.
