Small Fire at Providence Medical Center

Everett, WALocal News

Firefighters extinguished a small fire at Providence Medical Center in Everett early this morning after responding to an alarm at 2:01 a. m. Eighteen units arrived to find light smoke in the hallways and quickly located the source—a piece of electrical equipment that had caught fire in the mechanical room. They utilized dry chemical extinguishers to successfully extinguish the fire and employed fans to clear the smoke from the area. No patients or hospital staff were affected, as no patients were housed in that section of the hospital, and no injuries were reported.

This incident follows a bomb scare at the nearby Providence Swedish Mill Creek Campus just two weeks prior, which turned out to be a false alarm involving an empty cardboard box. The swift action by firefighters ensured the safety of the facility and its occupants. Providence Medical Center remains committed to maintaining a safe environment for all. The response highlights the importance of emergency preparedness in healthcare settings.
