2 Suspects in Custody After Shooting at a Deputy During a High Speed Pursuit in Snohomish County

Two 31-year-old male suspects from Marysville were taken into custody after firing multiple shots at a deputy during a high-speed pursuit in Snohomish County. The incident began around 10 p. m. on Wednesday when a patrol deputy noticed a vehicle driving recklessly on Highway 2 and attempted a traffic stop. The suspects fled, initiating a pursuit that reached speeds exceeding 100 mph, during which they fired several shots at the deputy's vehicle.

The chase concluded near Maple Avenue when law enforcement used ramming tactics to stop the suspects, leading to a crash into a utility pole. Both suspects were arrested, with one apprehended on foot after attempting to flee the scene. The driver faces charges of first-degree assault, reckless driving, and eluding, while the passenger is charged with first-degree assault and drive-by shooting. A firearm was found in plain view inside the suspect vehicle, adding to the severity of the charges. Major Crimes detectives are actively investigating the incident.
