Under Scrutiny Non-Permitted and Unlicensed Hot Food Vendors Operating Nightly in the City of Everett

Everett, WALocal News

The Washington State Restaurant Fair Play Coalition has raised concerns about illegal food vendors in Everett, prompting a letter to Mayor Cassie Franklin. Three unlicensed taco stands operate nightly from 7:00 p. m. to 2:00 a. m.

at specified locations, disregarding local business licensing and health department regulations. The coalition highlights significant public health risks, as these vendors lack essential sanitation and food safety measures. They are calling for immediate enforcement of the Everett Municipal Code to stop these operations. Additionally, the coalition urges collaboration with the Snohomish County Health Department and other agencies for ongoing compliance efforts. The group is open to discussions with city officials to address the compromise of public health and legitimate businesses.

If no action is taken, they may consider legal avenues to rectify the situation. This issue underscores the need for regulatory enforcement to protect both public health and local businesses.
