Everett High NJROTC Earns Top Honors for Performance and Growth

Everett High School’s Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) received the Bravo Zulu designation and was named the Most Improved Unit for Area 23 by the U. S. Navy. These honors reflect the unit's outstanding performance during the Annual Military Inspection (AMI) and significant growth in multiple metrics, including drill proficiency and community service. The recognition positions the unit for the national Most Improved Unit title, which they last achieved in 2011.

Principal Kelly Shepherd expressed excitement for the potential national recognition and gratitude for community support. Cadet Kauk emphasized the importance of community service, stating it greatly influenced his experience. Cadet Regan expressed pride in their hard work, while Cadet Reyes noted the validation of their efforts. The program includes students from Cascade High School and H. M.

Jackson High School, promoting a collaborative environment. This achievement underscores the commitment to leadership, service, and civic responsibility among the cadets.

Escape Everett Narrowly Escapes a Box Truck Plowing Through It

A box truck nearly crashed into Escape Everett, a non-scary escape room, after the driver suffered a medical emergency while turning. Witnesses reported that the vehicle made a full U-turn and narrowly missed the front window of the building. Firefighters later confirmed the driver had experienced seizures but was coherent shortly after the incident.
