On April 1, 2025, Everett, Washington, introduced new vibrant street pole signs to welcome visitors and residents, strategically placed on Hewitt and Broadway. The signs display “Everett” on one side and “Welcome” on the other, complemented by a mural divided into six panels, crafted by acclaimed Latine artist Angelina Villalobos-Soto. This initiative has resulted in over 60 banners lining key streets, significantly enhancing the visibility of the Everett Station District. Local businesses have voiced their excitement, noting that these decorations bring much-needed attention to areas often neglected in downtown improvements. Councilmember Paula Rhyne emphasized the project's significance, mentioning that some funding came from federal ARPA money, aimed at fostering thoughtful development.

Rhyne allocated $25,000 specifically to support this endeavor, showcasing a commitment to community enhancement. Brock Howell, Executive Director of the Everett Station District Alliance, praised the artwork for representing the city's diversity and vibrancy.
