RV fire results in one fatality and one in critical condition

Everett, WALocal News

A devastating RV fire in Everett, WA, on February 7, 2025, resulted in one fatality and left another person in critical condition. The incident occurred around 10:30 a. m. on Paine Field Way, where onlookers reported seeing smoke and flames emanating from the motorhome. Two heroic employees from Snohomish County PUD, who were in the area for an unrelated job, bravely entered the burning RV to rescue a woman trapped inside.

Upon arrival, South County Fire's Engine 11 found a fully involved RV fire and a female victim outside who was unresponsive. Firefighters faced significant challenges due to the cluttered conditions inside the RV, which had been the occupants' living space. As they navigated through the debris, they discovered an adult male occupant who was also unresponsive and, unfortunately, was pronounced dead at the scene. The surviving female victim was rushed to Harborview Hospital in critical condition, while the PUD workers were evaluated for smoke inhalation but did not require hospitalization. Fire crews extinguished the fire within five minutes of their arrival, showcasing their rapid response despite the obstacles.
