Former Sheriff Fortney Launches Non-Profit to Empower Struggling Youth in Snohomish County

Everett, WALocal News

Former Sheriff Adam Fortney and his wife Jill launched the Lead The Way Foundation to empower youth in Snohomish County. The initiative offers a free, 8-week program starting on October 8, 2025, at the Sno-Isle TECH Skills Center. Designed for teens aged 13 to 17, the program will focus on leadership, resilience, and self-worth. Adam Fortney highlighted the struggles faced by many young people in the community, advocating for mentorship and support. Weekly sessions will feature classes and guest speakers addressing social media pressures and decision-making.

Jill Fortney emphasized that the program aims to connect and grow with teens rather than deliver lectures. Registration is limited, urging interested families to sign up early. The foundation builds on the legacy of Adam's time as sheriff, promoting positive life paths for youth.
