Firefighters Rescue One Man, Another Found Dead in Everett Home Fire

Everett, WALocal News

Firefighters rescued an 80-year-old man and found another man dead during a house fire in South Everett on Sunday evening. The incident occurred in the 11800 block of 8th Ave W shortly after 7 p. m. , where firefighters encountered heavy flames at the rear of the home. Witnesses reported that four people lived there, but only two were believed to be inside during the fire.

Firefighters faced significant challenges on the first floor due to an abundance of furniture, complicating their search efforts. They located the deceased man, believed to be in his 40s, while conducting operations on that level. The Snohomish County Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire's cause, and damage is estimated at $375,000. More than 30 firefighters from multiple departments responded to the emergency, and Support 7 along with the American Red Cross are aiding displaced residents. The presence of possible drug paraphernalia and small explosions suspected to be from ammunition were also reported during the incident.
