Four-Year-Old Accidentally Shoots Mother in North Lynnwood

At approximately 8:01 a. m. , South County Deputies responded to an assault report in Lynnwood, WA, where a four-year-old boy accidentally shot his mother. The 42-year-old woman sustained a gunshot wound to her upper left arm and was transported to Harborview Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators found that the child accessed the loaded firearm from his father, who was asleep on the couch, and noted multiple unsecured firearms throughout the residence.

The father, a 44-year-old male, has been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and unlawful storage of a firearm. This incident underscores the critical issue of firearm safety, particularly in homes with young children. The two children, aged 4 and 9, were released to family members after the event.
