Edmonds, WALocal News

The City of Edmonds Parks, Recreation and Human Services Department promotes holiday cheer through the Giving Tree and Celebration of Lights. Residents can participate in the Giving Tree by selecting a tag, purchasing a gift for local children, and returning it unwrapped until December 3. Additionally, the Celebration of Lights allows community members to dedicate lights for $5 each, with proceeds benefiting the Youth Scholarship Fund. This fund ensures that all children have access to recreational programs, fostering personal development and community involvement. The Frances Anderson Center serves as the hub for these initiatives, encouraging local engagement during the holiday season.

Interested individuals can call 425-771-0230 or visit the center for further details. These traditions not only provide joy to children but also strengthen community bonds. The events reflect Edmonds' commitment to supporting local families during the holiday season.
